I’m drawn to photographing water because it gives me the opportunity to work with long exposures and to slow down enough to really study a scene. I enjoy walking along small, often unnamed creeks and other quiet waterways, looking for compositions that might otherwise go unnoticed. Part of the appeal is knowing that these places change with the seasons and from year to year, and that some stretches of water may go a long time without being seen by anyone at all. The resulting images give me a sense of solitude, connection with nature, and peace.
